I’m calling this painting done!

Painting

The train station in the very early morning hour. This painting took longer than any painting I’ve ever done. I think I finally understand values and how important they are. I think I will stay in this lane for quite some time. In the meantime I’m going to study colors. Mixing, creating good greys and generally making friends with color. I loved the entire process. I think I’ve discovered true patience in creating.

Here are the steps again

Painting from my sketches

Acrylics

Beginning the underpainting for the train station with burnt sienna. Creating the sketches has really put me into the painting. From the perspective to the values. I still have some perspective to work on, but it’s feeling good. #perspective #brunaille #values #monotone #burntsienna #acryliconcanvas

Sketching the cook’s dilemma

sketching

Good morning pots. I know they want to be cleaned. I will contemplate them with my Tombow markers. Just a little pen for definition. Thirty minutes. I could have gotten lost in my phone that long. Less phone, more sketching. Onto the pots now.

Sketching with oatmeal

sketching

Those salt and pepper shakers are challenging me. How to keep the integrity of the flower pattern and shading of the shakers themselves. Everything else is just the chorus line to these stars.

And no, I am not drawing with oatmeal. #tombowmarkers #prismacoloredpencils #pigmamicronpens #uniballsingowhitepen
