31 Paintings in 31 Days – Day 8

Art, Pastel

This little girl is a shiny STAR in my heart. I met her when she was almost three. She is smart, sassy and FUN. We played and played until she wore me out. She’s a great thinker and once stood outside our house on a rock with Mickey Mouse’s magician hat on and prayed to see a deer. When she was done, lo and behold if there weren’t two deer right down the street. Magic.

I captured joy in the photo, figuring one day to paint it. I painted her, walked away and when I came back, I had tears in my eyes. Her joy was palpable that day. I will always love her.

The word today is star. This is on Sabretooth. This is my favorite paper. It takes a lot of abuse. This paper had another painting on it. I sprayed it with Alcohol and made a wash out of the previous painting. The color of the paper was a light grey.
